Today a next pile of plates with DNA material was shipped from the University Medical Centre Utrecht in The Netherlands to San Diego (USA) for sequencing by our sequence provider.
The plates contain the DNA from a thousand ALS patients and five hundred controls from The Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. The US partners ship another 96 samples as well this week.
So more data will be generated during the coming weeks. This new data will be added to the sequencing data from samples of Belgium, UK, Ireland and the US, already present at our data storage.
Gathering more and more sequencing data will increasingly give insights in genetic causes of ALS.
