With the contribution of many amazingly successful events in 2015, most importantly the Amsterdam City Swim, Tour Du ALS, Rainbowrun040 and Ledro4Life, the Netherlands reach 100% of funding for Project MinE! 

Herewith the Dutch reach their fundraising goal to sequence 3,000 DNA profiles for Project MinE!

Congratulations to ALS Foundation Netherlands and their generous sponsors and donors!

The Netherlands is the second country to complete the fundraising for Project MinE. In 2015, Belgium was the first country that reached the fundraising goal.

Project MinE researchers at the University Medical Center Utrecht will start up the analyses of this Dutch whole genome sequencing data. Future joint analyses of international data with collaborating Project MinE countries will provide important opportunities for genetic ALS research. By comparing the DNA of ALS patients and healthy control persons Project MinE aims to find the genetic causes of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
